Frueauf Village and Falls Creek are your starting point for exploring the Alpine views and high country plains of the Victorian Alps.
Walks start from outside Frueauf Village. You can walk for fitness, walk to see the amazing views, walk to see wild flowers, or walk to see history. There are walks suitable for all ages and degrees of fitness.
Most of all you can just enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Village Walk.
Take a walk along the widing, quiet roads of Falls Creek Village. At the west end you can sit and have a coffee at Max's Cafe plotting your path for a walk to the summit. While at the east is a supermarket and cafe. In between there are lodges, bars and pubs.
Aquaduct Walk.
Just above Frueauf Village is the one of many aquaducts which channel water to the Rocky Valley lake. The aquaducts provide flat trails for walking, running and cycling and are a unique feature of Falls Creek. Many world class atheletes come to Falls each year to train at altitude on these trails. You will more than likely meet them on a trail or staying at Frueauf Village. You can take the aquaduct walk to the lake and back.
Summit Walk.
From the Village Bowl at Falls Creek you can walk up to the summit. The walk is steady but not a climb. Glorious views of the village and Mount Bogong are waiting at the top.
Wallaces Hut Walk.
Visit a high country cattleman hut. It is a short drive and then a 15 minute walk to Wallaces hut. A good palce to take a picnic lunch.
