Rocky Valley Dam and Pretty Valley Dam are located in high plains of the Alpine National Park next to Falls Creek.

20 minutes from Falls Creek is Lake Guy at Bogong Village.

The rivers of the area are fed by the snowfields of Falls Creek and the Bogong High Plains. The Kiewa River and its tributaries, Mountain Creek, Simmonds Creek, East & West Kiewa Rivers and Diamantina River, yield and sustain Brown and Rainbow trout.

At Mt Beauty, 40 minutes away, the Pondage is producing sizable trout and is one areas's top fishing venues.
